White-label consumer lending software

Lending infrastructure you can put your own name on.

LendRails runs the whole life of a consumer loan or credit line: the application, the credit decision, the agreement, the payout, collections and the ledger. Lenders bring their brand, credit policy, wording and funding. The platform does the rest.

Example record with fictional data. Every check is kept against the application, under the rule set in force at the time.
The model

A clear division of roles

Each lender runs its own instance under its own authorisation. LendRails supplies and operates the software. It does not lend, broker credit or hold customer money.

The lender provides

  • Its regulatory permissions and its funding
  • Its credit policy, set in the underwriting screen
  • Its agreement and notice wording, uploaded as Word files
  • Its brand: logo, colours and typeface
  • Its own contracts with bureaux and payment providers
  • Its people, working in the staff console

LendRails provides

  • The customer journey, portal and installable app
  • Decisioning, documents, payouts and collections
  • The loan ledger, statements and general ledger journals
  • Staff roles, maker-checker controls and a full audit trail
  • Connectors to the providers the lender chooses
  • Hosting, backups and monitoring, or deployment to the lender's cloud
Products

Two credit products, configured per lender

Each lender chooses which products it offers from a catalogue, with its own pricing, limits and terms. Applicants who don't qualify for one product can be offered another, in an order the lender sets.

Fixed-sum credit

Instalment loans

Unsecured personal loans repaid in equal instalments by Direct Debit, with statutory early settlement figures available to the customer at any time.

Pricing
Interest rate, fees and term bands set by the lender
Schedule
Generated at offer, frozen into the agreement
Settlement
Quotes calculated under the Early Settlement Regulations 2004
Running-account credit

Revolving credit facility

A credit line that sits alongside the customer's existing current account. The customer draws funds into their own bank account and repays each draw within a period the lender sets.

Pricing
Daily interest on the drawn balance, with optional draw and monthly fees
Draws
On demand from the app, paid out 24 hours a day
Limits
Assigned by the credit policy, with managed increases and decreases
Platform

What happens at each stage

The same platform serves the customer on their phone and the lender's staff at their desks, so a case never leaves the system to be worked somewhere else.

01 · APPLY

Apply

A short application built for a phone screen, in the lender's own brand and on its own web address.

  • Loan builder showing the cost as the customer adjusts amount and term
  • Postcode address lookup and a save-and-continue-later link
  • Open banking connection to read income and outgoings
  • A progress tracker from application through to funds sent
02 · DECIDE

Decide

Checks run automatically and the lender's credit policy decides the outcome. Cases that need a person go to a referral queue.

  • Credit reference search, identity verification and fraud screening
  • Rule sets held as versioned data: draft, approved, then effective from a date
  • Score bands, hard declines, referral triggers and limit assignment
  • A test harness and back-test before a new rule set goes live
03 · AGREE

Agree

The offer, pre-contract information and agreement are produced from the lender's own wording and signed online.

  • Agreement wording uploaded as a Word file, with every required figure filled by the platform
  • Click-to-sign with an evidence record and an executed copy for the customer
  • Documents locked by hash so the signed version can be proved later
  • Withdrawal rights recorded and actionable where the regime requires them
04 · PAY OUT

Pay out

Disbursement follows a maker-checker approval, with the payee's bank details encrypted at rest.

  • One person requests, a second approves; no one approves their own request
  • A checklist the code enforces before any money moves
  • Faster Payments through the lender's chosen payment provider
  • Payout status tracked through to settlement, with alerts on failures
05 · COLLECT

Collect

Repayments are collected by Direct Debit, either through a bureau or on the lender's own Bacs service user number.

  • Paperless Direct Debit instructions, Bacs Standard 18 files and AUDDIS lodgement
  • Return reports (ARUDD, ADDACS, AWACS) imported and acted on
  • A retry policy, arrears queues, notices and payment arrangements
  • Vulnerability flags, breathing space and interest stops recorded on the account
06 · ACCOUNT

Account

Every movement posts to an append-only, double-entry loan ledger, reconciled to the payment providers.

  • Daily interest accrual, receipt allocation and charge-back reversals
  • Statements of account and settlement quotes for the customer
  • Daily summarised journals to the general ledger
  • A month-end pack: trial balance, roll-forward, ageing and IFRS 9 staging inputs
Controls

Built for the people who answer for the book

A regulated lender has to show who did what, under which rules, and why. The staff console is designed around that.

Roles and permissions

Staff see and do only what their role allows. Sign-in has lockout and multi-factor authentication.

Maker-checker

Payouts, manual ledger postings, write-offs and rule-set changes each need a second person.

Audit trail

Every decision, status change, document and notice is recorded with the person, time and version.

Work queues

Referrals, arrears and tasks are assigned and tracked, with notes on each case.

Approvals on the move

Staff are notified on their phone when a case needs them, and can review and approve there.

Portfolio information

Limits, utilisation, delinquency, income and margin, with drill-through to account and transaction.

Customer data rights

A full customer file, subject access responses and retention with legal hold.

Account controls

Freeze, block, interest stop and high-risk referral, each with a reason and an audit record.

Credit reporting

A monthly credit reference file for review and approval before it goes to the bureau.

For the customer

A portal that behaves like an app

Customers install the lender's portal on their home screen. It opens with Face ID or a fingerprint and sends notifications when something needs their attention.

See where they stand

Balance, next payment, repayment progress and statements, in plain language.

Act without calling

Draw funds, change bank details, request a settlement figure or sign a document.

Get help

Secure messages and an assistant that answers account questions and hands over to staff, with the full conversation.

Regulation

Built to the rules the lender works under

Each lender instance runs under a document and conduct regime. The regime decides the documents issued, the notices sent and the rights offered to the customer.

United Kingdom

Designed around the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and the FCA's Consumer Credit sourcebook (CONC): pre-contract information and explanations, agreement content, the 14-day right of withdrawal, statements, arrears and default notices, and early settlement.

Isle of Man

A separate document set for lenders registered under the Moneylenders Act 1991, with UK practice adopted as stated policy where Manx law is silent, and anti-money-laundering capture for a designated business.

The lender remains responsible for its own regulatory compliance. Agreement and notice wording is supplied or approved by the lender and its legal advisers; the platform checks that every required figure is present and calculated by the system.

Deployment

A dedicated instance for each lender

Every lender gets its own instance and database. It can be hosted by LendRails or deployed as a container to the lender's own cloud.

Data protection

Bank details encrypted at rest, secrets kept out of the code, CSRF protection on every form and rate limits on sign-in.

Backups and recovery

Nightly backups copied off-site, with a restore drill that proves each backup can be brought back.

Monitoring

Health checks, structured logs, scheduled-job tracking and email alerts when something needs attention.
